Sinéad McKenna — Fiddle
Sinéad McKenna is a traditional musician, multi-instrumentalist and singer from Augher, County Tyrone. Her playing is firmly rooted in the traditional music of Ulster, with important influences including her great-uncles Pete and Pat McKenna and the fiddle playing of Tommy Peoples and Ed Reavy. She has established herself as an accomplished performer both at home and internationally, appearing across Ireland, Europe, the United States and Dubai. Sinéad has won multiple medals at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and, in 2019, won the prestigious Ed Reavy International Fiddle Competition.
After moving to Belfast to study, she became closely involved with the city's traditional music community and has since appeared at major traditional music events including Belfast TradFest and the Pádraig O'Keeffe Traditional Music Festival. Her television appearances include performances for RTÉ and TG4, while she also featured in the BBC documentary The Northern Fiddler. Her debut album, Faoi Lán Ceoil, showcases both her fiddle playing and her singing in Irish and English, combining traditional material with carefully considered arrangements. In 2026 she was also programmed as a fiddle workshop tutor at the Namur Irish Music Festival in Belgium.
