Brian Finnegan
Armagh-born Brian Finnegan is one of the most celebrated and innovative whistle and flute players in contemporary traditional music. A former pupil of the renowned Armagh Pipers Club, Brian has forged an extraordinary international career as a performer, composer and teacher.
He is a founding member of Flook, the iconic Anglo-Irish band whose distinctive flute and whistle-led sound has influenced traditional music for three decades. In 2025, Flook celebrated their 30th anniversary with the release of their fifth studio album, Sanju, and were awarded Music Group of the Year at Gradam Ceoil TG4 2025, recognising their outstanding contribution to traditional music.
Brian is equally renowned as a composer, with three acclaimed solo albums and his 2023 tune collection Timeweaver, featuring 70 original compositions.
